Election results for Washington County

Washington County voters threw their support to the Republicans at the top of the state’s ticket, giving Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell, Lt. Gov.-elect Bill Bolling and Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli II 75 percent, 76 percent and 75 percent of the vote, respectively
In District E, which includes Damascus, candidate Joe Straten defeated Board of Supervisors incumbent Jack McCrady by a narrow 17-vote margin, receiving 898 votes to McCrady’s 881, according to preliminary information from the State Board of Elections.
In District B, which includes Greendale, Supervisor candidate Nicole Price received 1,157 votes, defeating write-in opponent Glen Peters. Peters received 280 votes.
In District G, Dulcie Mumpower was re-elected to the Board of Supervisors, defeating challenger Vernon Smith 1,283 votes to 851.
The three School Board candidates, all running unopposed, were J. Sanders Henderson III in District B, Tom Musick in District E and Herschel Stevens in District G. Henderson received 1,198 votes, Musick 1541 and Stevens 1,679.
In the General Assembly races, county voters gave Terry Kilgore, running unopposed for re-election, 1,781 votes and Joe Johnson Jr, also unopposed, 8,635 votes, in the First and Fourth districts, respectively.
