Election results for Bland County

Bland County voters gave Republican statewide candidates a resounding victory, with Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell, Lt. Gov.-elect Bill Bolling and Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli II each receiving around 75 percent of the vote.
In the Seddon District, the only contested races on the county level, Nick Asbury was elected to the Board of Supervisors with 292 votes to Kevin Siers’ 135. Write-in candidate Bruce Shelton received 115. Melinda Litton was elected to the Seddon School Board post with 441 votes. In the Rocky Gap District, Karen Hodock will return to the Board of Supervisors with 287 votes and Anthony Kennedy received 268 votes for the School Board seat.
County voters also gave Anne B. Crockett-Stark a strong margin over challenger Carole Pratt for the Sixth District. The incumbent delegate received 1,356 votes to Pratt’s 453. Across the district, Republican Crockett-Stark was re-elected with 65 percent of the vote.
