TAZEWELL – The final defendant in the attempted murder of a deputy sheriff entered pleas in Circuit Court Nov. 2.
Wallace S. Kinder Jr., 36, entered guilty pleas to two counts of robbery, three counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony and one count of wearing a mask in public before Judge Keary R. Williams. Charges of attempted capital murder are still pending against Kinder.
Williams scheduled Kinder’s sentencing for Jan. 4. The attempted capital charge was continued and will be considered at that time. Kidner’s co-defendants Scottie Stinson and Tracy Coxton have been convicted and are currently serving time for the crimes.
The charges stem from the robbery of two convenience stores and the shooting of Deputy Eric Mullins in October of 2007. Kinder will be held in thew Southwest Regional Jail until sentencing.
