Spectators lined the streets Sunday, November 8, in 70-degree temperatures to honor local veterans. The Floyd Veterans Parade kicked off several activities for the week.
On Veterans Day, November 11, veterans were invited to a breakfast at Willis Elementary School, where they were also special guests at an assembly. A monument dedication for those buried at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery took place at 10:00 that morning, and then at 11:00 a.m. the annual Veterans Day Ceremony was held in the courthouse.
