Raven woman indicted for fraud

A Raven woman has been charged with forgery and uttering as the result of an investigation by Richlands Police Department.
Susan Elizabeth Newberry, 24, was indicted Jan. 5 on five counts of forgery, five counts of uttering, five counts of false identity and five counts of identity theft. Those chares came after Richlands police launched an investigation on Nov. 5 of 2010 into the theft and forgery of numerous checks. Those checks were on the account of Emily Ann Mohon of Richlands.
Newberry was arrested Jan. 11 by criminal investigators with the Richlands Police Department. She was taken before a magistrate and released on $2,500 bond pending her appearance in Tazewell County Circuit Court.
