A mid morning shooting at a home on Meadow Street is being investigated by town officers and sheriff’s deputies.
The call came in to Tazewell County 911 around 11:20 am as “someone inside a home with a gun.’
The first officer on the scene responded that one person was down. Multiple units from the town and the sheriff’s office responded.
Officers are still on the scene but unconfirmed reports say one person is dead and one in custody.
There is also reportedly a witness being questioned at the Tazewell Police Department. Meadow Street is just off Steele’s Lane in an area that was taken into the town of Tazewell in a Jan. 1 boundary adjustment.
