Van stolen in Richlands recovered

RICHLANDS – A van stolen from a local business has been recovered in Hickory NC.
Richlands Police Chief W.A. Puckett said his office received a report Jan. 20 that a 2007 Chevrolet Van, with ladders and tools had been taken from the Verizon office in Richlands. Puckett said the van was stolen sometime between 11 p.m. Jan. 19 and five a.m. Jan. 20. A Be On the Lookout, (BOLO), was posted for the van and the description, including the fact the driver’s side window was broken was sent to other agencies.
Puckett said officers in Hickory recovered the van during the overnight hours of Jan. 20-21. Members of his department were on their way to Hickory to get the van. Puckett said the Hickory officers found the van abandoned.
