Pennsylvania couple now faces additional charge here

A couple arrested for taking a teenaged Floyd County girl to their home in Pennsylvania had state charges leveled against them on Tuesday. Edward Lee Bracken and Regina L. Powell are currently in jail in Pennsylvania.
Bracken and Powell, both of 20 Lindenwood Drive in Kittanning, were arraigned and jailed June 14 on $100,000 bail in the Armstrong County Jail in Kittanning on charges of concealment of whereabouts of child and unlawful contact with a minor.
An additional charge against each was filed by the Floyd County Commonwealth’s Attorney. Both are charged under 18.2-374.3 under the Code of Virginia, using a computer to solicit a child at least 15 but less than 18 years of age.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Shortt said a detainer has been filed against the couple. They will be tried on the charges in Pennsylvania before being brought here for trial on the Virginia charge.
In a statement to police, the teen said she had met the defendant online several months ago, and had gotten a call from him saying he was in town. She said he called again and told her she should jump out her bedroom window and run down the driveway to meet them, and if she didn’t bad things would happen to her. She said when she approached the car, he displayed a yellow pocket knife and told her to get in the car. She said she was driven to a campsite in Rocky Knob Park, a few miles from her home, before being driven to Pennsylvania the next day.
Powell and Bracken both told police they knew the teenager was 15 years old and that they knew her mother did not know where she was, according to court documents.
