Do you still need to file your 2010 tax return before the April 18 deadline? If your household made less than $49,000 in 2010, you can file for FREE through New River Community Action’s VITA program.
IRS-certified volunteers will assist local residents in e-filing their federal and state returns. Volunteers will be at the Jessie Peterman Library in Floyd in the last days of the tax season. Call 540-745-2102 to schedule an appointment. Citizens may also learn if they qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit or Educational Credits, which may increase the total amount of their tax refund.
