Quilts of all sizes, types, designs, and ages will be on display at the Holston Mountain Artisans Annex July 29, 30 and 31, as part of the Virginia Highlands Festival activities.
Wolf Hills Quilt Guild and members of the Holston Mountain Artisans Cooperative will collect quilts from all around the region to share the tradition of quilt making as both a functional and decorative craft.
Titled “Quilts of Appalachia,” the display will include samples of hand and machine piecing and quilting, applique, tacking and needle turning. The names and history of the quilt patterns and the story of the quilt creator will be documented.

The display will be open on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m..
