Weather permitting, the lane closure on southbound Interstate 81 near Exit 45 at the bridges over Scratch Gravel Road in Marion, will begin Monday, Oct. 10, and will remain in place for 11 months. The northbound lane closure will begin within the next two weeks and will also be in place for 11 months.
The north and southbound lane closures are necessary to replace portions of the Interstate 81 bridges over Scratch Gravel Road.
While the lane closures are in place, local traffic should use Route 11 through Marion as an alternate route. It is not recommended for truck traffic to use Route 11 as a detour. Motorists should pay close attention to message boards in the region displaying information regarding the project.
