Members of the Floyd County School Board elected David Sulzen to be their chairman at the monthly meeting Monday (January 16).

Sulzen succeeds longtime chairman Doug Phillips. Phillips made the motion to appoint Sulzen; the motion was seconded by Margaret Hubbard.

After the vote, Sulzen thanked Phillips for his 18 ½ years of service as chairman.

In the reorganization of the Board, members also reelected Clay Link as vice chairman.

Meetings of the Board will continue to take place on the second Mondays of the month.

See more on the meeting in this week’s Floyd Press.
