The FCHS girls' varsity basketball team clinched a tie for the regular season district championship with a 76-67 win over Glenvar at Floyd Thursday. One more Floyd win or one more Glenvar loss and the Lady Buffs own the title outright.
Glenvar jumped out to a 12-0 lead before the Buffaloes got their first basket. Floyd got within four points by the end of the quarter and regained the lead for good in the fourth quarter.
Floyd has two regular season games remaining and will play the final home game Thursday, February 2 against Radford. Complete game coverage in next week's Floyd Press.
